Non-Emergency Medical Transporter (Driver)

Position Summary

Non-emergency medical drivers transport clients to and from doctor appointments.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Greet clients with a warm, friendly, and helpful attitude.
  • Respond to dispatch in a timely fashion.
  • Possess confidence while assisting Seniors who are wheelchair bound.
  • Maintain good working relationships.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Possess great customer service skills

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid driver’s license from the State for the type of vehicle they are driving.
  • Evidence of 5 panel drug testing pre-employment.
  • Have a National criminal background check through the National Crime Information Center
    (NCIC) prior to employment and annually thereafter (no state background check is required)
  • Cannot be on any state or federal Sex Offender Registry
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony crime and/or misdemeanor related to:
    1. health care fraud, theft, embezzlement, breach of fiduciary responsibility, or other financial
      misconduct;
    2. elder abuse/patient abuse in connection with the delivery of a health care item or service;
    3. unlawful manufacture, distribution, prescription, or dispensing of a controlled substance;
    4. any felony or misdemeanor conviction for child abuse, elderly abuse, domestic violence,
      criminal sexual conduct, drugs or weapons.
    5. Have not had their license suspended or revoked for moving traffic violations in the
      previous 5 years.
    6. Have no more than 2 chargeable accidents or 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • Must have current certification in:
    1. CardiopulmonaryResuscitation (CPR )/ First Aid
    2. Defensive Driving
  •  Are required to participate in a minimum of twelve (12) hours in-service training on related
    subjects annually such as:

    1. Handling Blood-borne Pathogens
    2. Passenger Assistance – transferring, loading, unloading
    3. HIPAA Compliance
